In 1997, a negligent driver ran a stop sign as David and his wife were lawfully passing through an intersection of a four way stop when the other driver drove through the intersection without stopping before striking the vehicle David and his wife were in and causing their car to spin approximately 210 degrees before coming to a stop. As a result, David sustained herniated discs in his cervical (neck), thoracic (mid back) and lumbar (low back) spines, while his wife sustained a herniated disc in her neck.
